10 Reasons Why the Life Insurance Business is the Best Business to Start

More than ever are people looking to start businesses. I think people are realizing there’s not much job security working with someone else. People want time freedom and opportunity to earn more money without necessarily having to trade their time for money. Since Corona, more than ever people are working from home. But, what is a secure business to start? What business is considered an evergreen business meaning no matter what the economy is doing, you will still be able to earn a living? What business gives you control over your time and income? Not to mention, it’s the highest paid industry in the world? It's higher than Hollywood and higher than health and wellness. 


It’s the finance industry. Which makes sense. If you want to make money, you have to learn money. I’m going to build a case as to why I think you should consider the financial services industry and I’m going to specific in selling you on getting your life insurance license.


  1. It’s low cost to get started

    You have to pay for a license and depending on your state it could be as low as $30 to a few hundred dollars. You study online and can take your state exam proctored online. I have a method to help you pass within the first week of studying. When agents use this method they pass the first time. I’m confident you’ll be able to pass.

  2. It's a Valuable Product

    It’s one of the most valuable products you can sell someone and people need it and will use it in some way or another because everyone dies and people get sick. I’m a widow so I know first hand the value of life insurance. I was widowed when my twins were 11.5 months old and I’m blessed my husband and I were both financially prepared because of this industry. To be honest, If I wasn’t a life insurance agent I doubt I would have considered life insurance. It’s a product that’s sold through an agent so most people who I know that have life insurance know a life insurance agent or they were approached about it by an agent. We need more agents to spread the word and help families get protected. As long as people keep being born, there will be a need for your product.

  3. More Potential Clients than Agents

    That brings me to my next point. The Life insurance industry isn’t saturated like the real estate industry. We have more clients who need our services than agents available to help. You won’t have a shortage of clients. 

  4. Residuals

    Imagine if for every home a real estate agent sold, they’d still get paid on it. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, but with life insurance agents, it is. We don’t just get paid one time. We get paid residuals for every client. You can build a book of business that continues to pay you for the rest of your life. That’s not the case with most other businesses. You’re going to be working anyway, right? Why not build a book of business that pays you for the rest of your life? 

  5. You’ll learn sales

    Sales is one of the most important skill sets anyone can learn. The thing is that we’re all sales people. Either you’re selling yourself on why you can’t sell or you’re selling yourself on why you CAN sell. But, you can definitely learn sales in this industry if you have good training. I have an entire system at Top Financial Agency with presentations and scripts so you can easily get started with your own business. You can have your own landing page where clients can book directly on your page or you can build your own website. It truly is a simple and duplicatable business.

  6. There’s a need

    75% of people will experience some type of chronic, critical, or terminal illness in their lives and you have the product that can help ease their financial burdens when it happens. People go bankrupt for financial reasons, but with this one product, you can make a difference in their lives. 

  7. You’re helping families leave a legacy behind

    Want to make a difference in our country for the future lives of Americans? Help people leave a legacy behind and leave the next generation wealthier than the last. Let’s help people have a better understanding of money so they can teach their children since that’s not something taught in schools, right? 

  8. You can transform your finances

    Name me another legal business where you can provide value, make a major difference in someone’s life and get paid thousands for a couple hours of work? That’s why even through the difficult times, I’ve stuck it out because this business is gold. 

  9. You can create your own schedule and start part-time around your day job

    I take client appointments on zoom and if I meet clients in person I’ve brought my twins with me. I give them a coloring book and they sit quietly coloring waiting for me to be done. Even as a single mom with 4 year old twins, I’ve been able to do this business. 

  10. The leaning curve is small

    You may be thinking, “I don’t know anything about finances. That’s all good. I didn’t either before I got started. But, in this business you learn with a coach and a training program so you’re not just thrown out to the wolves. We have a training program, I have a back office, and I will help you along the way. 


I hope I sold you on why the life insurance industry is the best industry to get into especially as we’re inching closer to a bear market.
